Adopting a dog.

Adopting a dog is a big decision, but if you are ready, we have many wonderful dogs just waiting for someone like you to give them a loving home.  Our dogs are listed on Adopt-A-Pet and PetFinder Please consider our special needs dogs, our seniors, and our too long overlooked dogs first.  If you see a dog you are interested in you can submit an adoption application and a volunteer will be in touch. or use the contact information associated with each dog to find out more. Thank you.

Special needs dogs.

Stevie is blind

Can you see Stevie? Can you see how happy, full of life, and well-adjusted he is? He can play fetch, run 3 miles alongside you, ride politely in the car and go shopping, enjoy a break at your favorite café, explore new places, and snuggle with you on the couch for a nap. He is curious and intelligent. Stevie was born blind and his sense of smell and hearing are amazing. His heart is big, and he lives life without fear. His human companion must be equally courageous, energetic, and empathetic.
Stevie is 2 years old and is house trained.

Stevie is being fostered by Cristiana, if you are interested in this wonderful, special needs dog, please contact her at (786) 314-0039.

Sasha is deaf

Sasha is a volunteer favorite at the shelter! She is about 5 years old, 55 pounds and is deaf. She was surrendered to the shelter with large polyps in her ears. Her recent surgery to remove the polyps and prevent her going deaf, unfortunately left her deaf in both ears. Sasha is still a very friendly and active dog who likes to play fetch, but is also happy relaxing by your side. She is affectionate and loves any attention from the volunteers. She is dog friendly and was previously introduced to cats and did well also.

Senior Dogs

Reese is a 10 year old Shepherd, Rottie Mix. Reese loves treats and they seem to be the way to his heart. He is non-reactive to dogs and would probably be fine in a home with other friendly dogs. Reese loves to go on slow short walks and he loves to stop and take in all of the smells. Reese is looking for an adopter willing to put in the time to gain his trust. At the shelter, Reese is learning to trust the volunteers that take care of him, and we believe a home environment would continue to motivate his progress. Contact

Luna is a calm, loving and smart. She was surrendered at the shelter when their owners moved away and couldn’t take her with them. Luna is super easy-going and not demanding, she likes to sit next to you, put her head in your lap and give you kisses. Luna is an obedient dog who knows how to sit, give paw, lay down, and even speak on command! She has been around children of 4 and 7 years old. She is an older dog who is desperately looking for a forever home. If you would like to meet Luna, please contact

Mimi is a wonderful mixed breed dog, who is a perfect size. Mimi’s one-ear-up, one-ear-down is adorable. She is very sweet and very shy. Once Mimi is leashed, she walks right by her handler’s side – no pulling or jumping. She has not shown any reaction to other dogs at the shelter. More than anything, Mimi loves to jump in the car and go for a ride, she is a well behaved rider. She also thoroughly enjoys a nice bath and a comb-out. Mimi needs an adopter who will understand her shyness. She loves getting pets from people walking by her and once she is attached to you, she is your buddy for life – she just needs time and patience until she gets to know you.

If you’d like to meet Mimi or for more information, please contact Sophie (305) 857-7454 or

Kito is a sweet, laid back dog. He might be on the older side, but Kito looks and acts like a puppy (ok, not quite, but definitely does not act his age). Though laid back, Kito loves to play and is always ready for a game of fetch. Kito likes to go on walks and explore everything. Kito is a happy, friendly and outgoing dog, who would make a great family pet and would love to join your family. Kito would also be a great candidate for fostering due to his easy going nature. If interested please contact Kelly (305) 975-8232 or

Overlooked Dogs

Adonis is a German shepherd mix, smart, and is a very shy, sweet dog. Adonis walks well on a leash. Adonis likes to chew on fluffy toys, and he play fetch with you. Adonis was fostered for a couple months and he bonded with his foster mom, but he could not accept sharing living space with his foster dad (simply put, he prefers women). He gets along with other dogs, but he would rather be the only dog in the house. Once he gets settled, he will always greet you and wag his tail when you return. Please consider Adonis, he has been waiting too long for his forever family to find him. Contact Sophie at (305) 857-7454 tor to meet this wonderful guy.

Logan has been overlooked for too long for no reason. Logan is affectionate, playful, and loves his toys! Fetch and tug-of-war are his favorite games. Logan is a people dog and is most happy when he is with you. He walks well on a leash. He is house trained, rides very well in the car and is a joy to be with. He is an adorable dog, always happy and wagging his tail. He is a mix of terrier and maybe boxer. Logan is not very big, only 38 pounds, he is sweet and needs a loving family to share his sweetness and playfulness with.
